Gaining items like the bone-tipped spear made me feel invincible early on, but this baptism of fire had me back at Chapter One for my arrogance. Once players get into the flow of crafting and procuring essentials, they can start to satisfy their sense of adventure as there’s lots to discover as the world of Windbound is pretty big.Ĭombat is pretty straightforward, players can dodge and attack their enemy, there’s a lock-on function for mano a mano encounters, but most of Kara’s prey will need a well thought out strategy to defeat them. However, players will be able to craft extra item space as they progress. Players will quickly discover that they have limited space in their inventory, so selecting the right items is a must, as is remembering little details like not carrying raw meat for too long because it will spoil. Once stamina has depleted, Kara will enter starvation mode and her health will begin to decrease until you find food to eat, so be sure to secure what you need before adventuring out. Performing all of Kara's key actions like climbing, swimming, running and sailing will drain the stamina bar, and the worst possible scenario is sailing with no food and your stamina runs out. Players will have two bars they will need to monitor, the stamina bar and health bar. Windbound is a perfect blend of survival and action, but from the very beginning - before the player can craft advanced weapons - survival is the key element.
